NY535imanual asked me about some 535i mesh wheels that were for sale. I gave him a price, he agreed and asked me to deliver them to Manhattan. Well I gather the wheels, dismount the tires, load them in my car and drive them to Manhattan from the southern tip of the Jersey shore. Here's the best part, once I arrive in the city, HE NO LONGER ANSWERS HIS CELL, now I have 5 rims sitting in my living room. I thought we were all friends here........

PML,

Normally I would have responded directly to your messages/voicemails when I had time, but since you went out of your way to try to make me look like a jerk in front of everyone I feel like this is where I need to respond. Others have counseled me to just ignore you, but I don’t think that’s fair to you or me. Apologies to everyone else who bothers to read this post.

Well, where to start? It seems to me that you left a lot of things out of your post. Lets correct the record, shall we?

First, we agreed a time to meet on four occasions, and each time you backed out. (In fairness, one time you said you had an accident. I hope you were able to get the metal sliver out of your eye). This was not a big deal to me, as the wheels are for winter use, but you should probably be a little more even-handed in how you lay out the facts when trying on your martyr’s coat.

Second, and more importantly, lets be clear here: I NEVER (using all caps for emphasis) asked you to bring the wheels into Manhattan. I planned to pick the wheels up, and it was YOU who insisted on bringing them into Manhattan. I should also mention that you told me you were coming from Brooklyn, which is quite different from the Jersey shore. Its that martyr thing again…it really gets in the way of facts.

Third, (and its especially interesting to me that you neglected to mention this one) the time you say you came into the city we had agreed to meet at 9pm. I never heard from you before I went to bed. When I woke up at 5am the next day for my flight to Chicago (where I still am, by the way) I saw that you called at around 11pm. Sorry, but I wasn’t going to stay up waiting for someone who had rescheduled four other times, and in fact I’m not going to apologize for going to sleep before a big work trip.

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I’ve been working 15 hour days for the last two weeks, and frankly have had neither the time nor inclination to respond to your voicemail barrage. I certainly still need the wheels, but after seeing how you do “business” I’m also pretty certain that I no longer want to buy them from you. It seems you have several other offers for the wheels, so finding a new buyer should not be a problem for you.

B/t/w, thanks all for treating PML's "query" with the seriousness it deserves.

Very nice of you to have set things straight.
And I also can draw advantage from this as an observer.

It doesn't help when some members have commercial interests. It's always interesting when the motivations get exposed.

I'd like a revisit to Martin's hot sports opinion posted below, just to keep things interesting.

If you are still in chicago and want winter wheels (in May?) I've got a set cheap. The airlines prefer the carry-ons to have brake dust.
