I replaced my battery through my local BMW specialist last November, because the previous one was the original and losing charge. I have found the same is happening to the replacement. If I open the trunk lid for long periods say, 10 to 15 minutes the battery goes flat. Once jump started and driven for say 1 mile it's ok again, and will start the following day no problem.
If I don't use the car for 2 to 3 days the battery is flat again. Can it be something to do with the lights in the trunk. Do they go out when the lid is shut, if not they would discharge the battery, also when the trunk is open the lights are on and would do the same. My local BMW specialist can not find a problem. There are no light plungers in the trunk to test the on/off problem, the lid operates by light pressure to close it. I would be most grateful to anybody who can solve the problem. I'm just going to put the battery on charge.
