I have just replaced the thrust arms on my 525I 1989, but I notice when I put the weels back. I grab them with my both hands, and I shake them left to right, and I notice that there is a small clunk sound between the directional bar and the stering wheel box. And, when I drive the car and I go to a rough road. I can feel the hit on the stering wheel.
I am wondering if I need new shock absorbes, or the stering wheel is bad?
I someone can give me and idean how can I check both things.
Thanks

Tighten the nut behind the wheel, if you havent already. Its almost certainly loose, and there is a possibility that it could fix one or more of your symptoms.

This what I did. I lifted the front of the car, and grabed one of tires on both sides, I notice there is a small play. But this small play, it goes all the way to the steering box, and I think that it goes all the way to the steering wheel.
Someone told me that I need to replace the shock absorbs, but I need second opinion.
While I am driving on smooth road the car run smooth, but when I hit a rough road or a bump, or hole on the road the hit I can feel it on the steering wheel.
