View Full Version : stomp test possible on non-US spec cars

just found an interesting info from someone to make the stomp test possible on 750 from 05/1991 on with DME 1.7 (not possible with 1.2)
See Bentley Repair Manual 100-16, ELE-201, ELE-89.
First of all install a bulb in the cluster into the empty socket for the check engine light. Then connect on both MOTRONICS additional new cables on ECU I pin 8 + ECU II pin 8 and connect it to the cluster on connector X502 pin 3.
Then start the procedure for the stomp test as shown on my website below. For cylinder bank no. I push the accelerator pedal 5 times, for cylinder bank II 6 times.

Switch ignition in position 2. wait till EML light is off, 5 times for ECU I and 6 times for ECU II.

Is this possible on M50 engines with Bosch Motronic 3.x?

I strongly assume so, as you car is from 1992. But better post your question once more on the 5 series board here

and ask which pin on your DME is that, because the pin # changes depending on the DME (MOTRONIC), as you can see from the comment of Javier in the above link on his car.
