tranny sports/economy/winter-mode switch problem

Hello!
I have a 530ia -93 with a pretty irritating problem..
The little switch next to the gearshift wont do it's thing! When i try to switch driving mode nothing happens! The "E" in the panel just gives a little "blink" when i try to get it in winter mode.

I have tried picking the little swith-box apart down into molequels and then reassembling it, but without finding any glitches or anything that would seem to be the problem.. Does anyone of you guys know what the problem might be?

I think you can swap it for the switch in the sun roof for a quick test..... and see if it's the switch or something else....
