I've scored an e34 m5 diff (3.91 lsd) and I'm planing on swapping it for my standard 3.15 non lsd. Has anyone here done a swap like this or has any info regarding this?

To my best knowledge the diffs are almost identical (same driveshaft flange and same cover) and I know e34 540 owners have been swapping 750 and m5 diffs into their cars.

My thougt about this swap is getting the 750 to get its fat ass from the line and also to get the locking diff to improve snow traction. Here in Iceland where I live the local speedlimit is 90kmph (about 56mph) so I have no need for the 250+ top speed and cruising speed is allways about 100kmph (or about 62mph). I drive mostly in the city so average speed is about 50kmph so I don't see how the lower ratio should hurt my milage to much.

Any input on this appreciated:)

FYI I've installed the diff and all went smoothly, the only difference is that the bolts on the output flanges. The M5 diff has finer threads than the 750 so its vital to get the M5 bolts as well.

Difference in acceleration of the line is huge!

Whow, that sounds nice. Can you make some pics of your car and the mods and present it here on the E32 page?
