I am starting my first mechanical adventure with this 1990 7 series. I am replacing the trans and have the driveshaft nuts removed, but how do you get the driveshaft out? Do you have to knock the bolts out?
Any other tips are appreciated. Is it necessary to blow out the trans cooler lines and flush fluid thru there 2 times? Also, can I find and count the electrical pins before trans removal.
Does anybody have a nice used trans to sell at a good price?
Thanks

Go to this board here which is specialized on E32 and where the experts are. Johan for example has done a swop of the trans on his 735 already, so he can answer in detail.
Do use the search there for the name Kirt Koeller, that is the specialist on transmissions and can sell you a recon one. Also ask on the board there, maybe someone has one. There is also a for sale board, but you can also post something you want.

The trans harness plugs into the rear of the unit /left hand side above the pan. The pin count is located there.

See my other message on trans availability -- I have two.
