I had an overheat issue; and now -- I think we've determined what is really going on.

We now believe I'm loosing coolant while I drive, via a head gasket leak forcing fluid into the overflow & pressure pushing it out the drain hose.

It's not too bad of a leak, as far as no water in the oil, no oil loss, no oil in the coolant, etc etc etc.

We're pulling the head off -- anything I need or should do while we have the head off?

I was thinking about a bit of porting/polishing work -- headers appear out of the question price wise. I was also thinking about replacing the timing chain tensioner - is the chain doable at the same time?

Any pipes, hoses, etc that will probably go bad and are a pain to get at otherwise?

I was going to use new headbolts. The cam looks good, so I dont' think I *need* a new cam.... Are there things to specifically look for? Would I need new rocker arms if I changed the cam?

Thanks

Maybe you ask the guys on a special E32 board.

If I start now telling you what to change all now then you finally would end up with almost a new engine ;-)

Thanks -- yes; well; I'm not willing to do a radiator cap rebuild.... (rebuild everything under the cap -- aka a new car)

The car runs fine; plenty of power, even compression; no oil consumption -- just this darn coolant loss...

Thanks for the link.
