Just so you know I've done a search already, but I still have a few unanswered questions. How do you get the tranny codes? Also, since there are different trannys, are there specific problems that go with each one? I have the a4s310, 188k on it, last serviced 80k ago. TIA.

approx. 49 codes for the a4s310 trans, yes there are specific problems for each trans.

Well, I got another trans program today. I drove it yesterday and nothing, but my wife had my car again today and "bling". I wonder if maybe my car doesn't like my wife. Again, anyone with a scan tool in So Cal area?

Going to get the codes read for free at Santa Ana Transmission tomorrow. Mesa Performance recommended this shop. Precision BMW Service (independent out of Roundel mag) sends their rebuilds to AAMCO in Costa Mesa, says they are really good. Obviously I will make a decision to rebuild once the codes are read. Luckily I don't have to make a hasty decision since I have a backup car just for these occasions (84' 528e).
