Ho can I get one made? Dealer or otherwise? What is the approximate cost? Car is a '90 535i. Thanks.

Go to the dealer with proof of registration and your licence. Most of them don't have the machine and have to get it ordered - takes about 2 days. Mine cost me 23 dollars.

They do not need your key to make you a duplicate ... they cut from the VIN number.

I just ordered one for my 1989 525i last saturday, just went to the dealer with my registration and my licence. They made a copy of those and ordered one; they say it'll be ready tuesday. The cost was 50 dollars plus tax, though they can run as high as 75 dollars according to the computer system (as I was shown prices for some newer models aswell; so I wouldn't feel to bad for the price, lol... the dealer person even knew it was quite a bit for a key.)

Mine cost me $48.00 from the dealer, just bring your regestration.
