Newbie here....looking for recommendations on wheel offsets for the e34. i have just bought a 95 540i and am thinking about buying some 18". Curious as to what offset I should be looking for and figured I would ask here first. Also tire size recommendations for 18" on e34. Someone please help a newbie out. Thanks all

Welcome!

Here's a link to Bruno's site:

It's a good starting point for a lot of upgrade and maintenance questions.

well, if you're looking at BMW wheels...all BMW 5/6/7/8/Z8 models have the same wheel offset range (10mm-26mm) and the same wheel hub size (72.6mm) except the e39 5 series (which has a 74.1mm wheel hub).

The above info is for the wheels only. The later models use a tire that has a greater circumference...so you may/will have to change the tire size (to keep the equivalent rolling specs).

One new piece of info to add...the new 5/6/7 series (e60/e63/e65) have some 18" & 19" staggered wheel sets where the rear wheels now have an offset of 28mm-32mm...I'm not sure if these 8.5"/9.5" wide wheels can be used without some rubbing or wheel well modification. But the front 8" wide wheels (in these sets) should work fine and fit within th usual offset range etc.
