Is it normal for the idle control valve to always foul with oil ? Had to replace my old one after engine kept missing and car actually began dying at load, noticed my old ICV was quite fouled up --my mechanic actually tried cleaning it a couple of times before I changed it. Problem is, the new ICV has also been fouling up, the last one so bad that my idle was oscillating between 800 and 1500 or so RPM. Changed back to my old one, old problem came back. Went to the cleaned-up new one again earlier today, idle normal now, but am looking a few weeks ahead when the ICV will be gunked up and giving me headaches. What is causing this, anything I can do?
