I have purchase a 1993 e32 740i. I am trying to find the remotes keyless entry control box. Various threads for the E34 state it is under the rear seat. On the e32 I don't see it. All I have is a relay box with some fuses and the battery. Does anyonyone know where it is located? Thanks for your help

Gary, on the 740i '93 the plug is located by the brake pedal mount under the dash. It is located about 5 inches to the left of the mount.
I don't have an actual picture of it, but it should be a 12-pin connector with a single pin next to it.
I hope this helps. I installed one on my 750iL that I got from www.bmwalarm.com and it was a piece of cake to install.

You guys were correct. It's under the knee bolster on the left side of the steering wheel. the proceedure to get to it is, Remove the wood trim on both sides of the steering wheel. This will reveal 3 screws. Under the paded bolster you also find 2 phillips head screws that need to be removed. This will allow the padded bolster to be removed. Once the pad is removed the steel backup bolster needs to be unbolted using a socket wrench and three inch extension. Carefully lower the sheet metal and support it so that you don't rip the wires from the reciever. Unscrew the unit from the sheet metal ( 2 phillips head screws) and let the unit hang by it's own weight. Place the sheet metal part aside and unscrew the mounting bracket from the receiver. Follow procedures to reprogram the chip found in the manual or elswhere on this fourm. Thanks to all for your help
