i735 burping trasmission fluid

I originally thought the rear seal was leaking. It was replaced at the dealer and they showed me the bad seal. Now it looks to be burping from the vent. I dont understand it. The temp was checked and the fluid flow was also. the oir is cherry red not dark or burt. What should I do next. They tell me it may need a rebuild. But the car runs great with the gears shifting ok. This is a automatic transmission 92 model.
